The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on 7 February. This time, the tournament is being hosted by India and Sri Lanka. All countries must submit their squads to the ICC by 7 January. For the T20 World Cup 2026, Two Players of Indian Origin Have Been Appointed as Captain and Vice Captain
For the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Oman has appointed two Indian players as the captain and vice-captain of its team. Oman has named Jatinder Singh as the captain for the T20 World Cup 2026, while Vinayak Shukla has been given the role of vice captain.
Oman, led by Jatinder Singh, has been placed in Group B, which also includes Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Ireland. The Oman team features a strong presence of players from India and Pakistan.
Five Players Who Played in the Asia Cup 2025 Have Been Left Out
Oman has also shown the door to five players who featured in the Asia Cup 2025. Oman has excluded Aamir Kaleem, Sufyan Yousuf, Aryan Bisht, Zikria Islam and Mohammad Imran from the squad. These players will not be seen playing in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Oman’s team will play its first match of the T20 World Cup 2026 against Zimbabwe on 9 February 2026. This will be the fourth time Oman is participating in the T20 World Cup. Oman played its first T20 World Cup in 2016, and then qualified again for the 2021 T20 World Cup. After that, Oman has participated in two consecutive T20 World Cups, including the 2024 edition, and will now play in the T20 World Cup 2026 as well.
