EPFO Prepares New Mobile App for Faster, Easier PF Services by April 2026
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is currently preparing to launch a new mobile app for its millions of members. This new app is expected to make PF-related services much faster and more convenient. According to reports, the app could be launched by March or April 2026. It is currently in the trial phase, and work is underway to fix any technical issues to ensure a smooth experience for users after the launch.
Reports suggest that the biggest feature of the new EPFO app will be that members can transfer PF money directly to their bank accounts using UPI. This means the process of filing claims and waiting for long periods will become much simpler. Let’s first understand how this new app will be different from UMANG.
New EPFO App to Connect Directly with Bank Accounts, BHIM and Other UPI Apps
In fact, the new EPFO app will be quite different from the existing UMANG app, as it will be directly linked to users’ bank accounts and will also connect with other UPI apps, including BHIM. This will allow members to easily check their EPF balance and withdraw money instantly via UPI.
After the app is launched, members will first need to log in, where they will be able to see their available PF balance. They can then select the amount they wish to withdraw and complete the transaction using their UPI PIN. The money will be directly transferred to the bank account already linked with EPFO. In addition, the app will include several other features, such as checking passbook balances.
EPFO Testing New App with Dummy Accounts, Labour Ministry Monitors Launch
Reports also indicate that the EPFO is currently testing the system with around 100 dummy accounts. Any technical issues arising during this testing are being resolved simultaneously. The Labour Ministry is closely monitoring the entire project, and preparations are underway to launch the app as soon as possible. With the introduction of this app, the process of withdrawing PF funds will become much faster.
