Iran has warned the world that oil prices could reach $200 per barrel. In recent days, on Wednesday, the Iranian military attacked merchant ships in the Gulf. Iran’s military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said, “You have destabilized regional security, so be prepared for oil at $200 per barrel.

They warned that if ports are targeted, the region’s economic and commercial centers will also become our targets. It has been almost two weeks since the war began, triggered by joint airstrikes from the U.S. and Israel. So far, around 2,000 people have been killed, most of them Iranians and Lebanese. The war has now spread to Lebanon, and global energy supply and transportation have been completely disrupted.

The U.S. Department of Defense described it as the most intense airstrike operation since the start of the war. Despite this, Iran carried out attacks on targets in Israel and across the Middle East, proving that it is still capable of retaliatory action.

Iran Attacks Ships in the Gulf

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards said they fired on ships in the Gulf. These were the ships that, according to them, were not obeying their orders. Reports came on Wednesday of attacks on three ships.

A bulk carrier flying the Thai flag was engulfed in flames. The crew was evacuated, but three people are missing and are believed to be trapped in the engine room. A Japanese container ship and a Marshall Islands bulk carrier were also damaged by projectiles. Since the start of the war, attacks have been carried out on 14 merchant ships.
