Rahul Gandhi Stages Sit In at Parliament Street Police Station, FIR Registered in Sahil Pellet Gun Injury Case

As soon as Rahul Gandhi came out of the DCP’s office, he sat on a protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station along with the victim’s family. He remained there until the FIR was registered.

Sitting outside the DCP’s office at Parliament Street alongside pellet gun victim Sahil Lochab, Rahul Gandhi said that a month had passed since the incident, but pellets were still lodged in Sahil’s body.

Rahul Gandhi Says FIR Was Registered After Home Minister’s Approval

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said, “How many women are raped in this country, how many children are killed, how many people are shot, and how many people have pellets lodged in their bodies? This police station is located in the heart of Delhi, yet justice is not being delivered here.”

He said, “Just imagine what must happen at a police station in a village or a small town. We did nothing wrong here. We simply demanded justice for an Indian citizen and his family, but it took eight hours. The final approval had to come from the Home Secretary and Home Minister Amit Shah himself. Only after that was the FIR registered. This shows who was preventing the FIR from being filed. The police officers wanted to register it, but justice was being blocked from above.”
