Redmi has launched another new 5G smartphone in the global market, called the Redmi 17C 5G. Earlier, the company had launched the Redmi 17 4G and Redmi 17 5G devices. Now, the company has introduced this new smartphone in the Singapore market for the time being.

The phone has been launched in the budget segment, featuring a large display, a powerful battery, and 5G connectivity. However, there is currently no information about its availability in other markets, including India.

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9 inch display with support for a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Another major highlight of the phone is its 6,000mAh battery. In terms of cameras, the device sports a 50MP primary rear camera. Additionally, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and supports 5G connectivity.

Demand for budget 5G smartphones is continuously growing in the smartphone market, and amid this trend, Redmi has introduced its new smartphone, the Redmi 17C 5G. The company has equipped the phone with several features, including a large display, a powerful battery, and 5G connectivity, which could make it a good option for budget-conscious users.

Talking about the specifications, the Redmi smartphone features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. The display also supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Its standard brightness is rated at 660 nits, while the brightness can reach up to 810 nits in HBM mode. For eye protection, the phone also comes with DC Dimming and TÜV Rheinland certification.

For performance, the Redmi phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and offers 64GB and 128GB storage options. The RAM can be expanded up to 8GB using the memory extension feature, while the storage can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.

For photography, the phone features a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It also comes with a secondary lens. The camera supports features such as HDR, Night Mode, and Portrait Mode. For video recording, the phone can record videos at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps.

On the front, the phone features an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera also supports HDR, Portrait Mode, and Night Mode, along with a soft-light ring.

In addition, the phone packs a large 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. However, the company provides a 15W charger in the box.

Redmi 17C 5G Smartphone Price

Talking about the price, the Redmi 17C 5G starts at S$279 in Singapore, which translates to approximately ₹19,000 in India. The device is available in Black, Brown, and Purple color options. The Brown variant features a vegan leather finish.

Xiaomi has not yet revealed the phone’s price or launch date in other markets, including India.

Redmi 17C 5G Runs HyperOS 3, Offers IP64 Protection and a 3.5mm Headphone Jack

In terms of software, the international variant runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. The Redmi 17C 5G also comes with an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes. However, this does not mean the phone can be submerged in water.

The phone also features a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other connectivity options include a USB Type-C port, 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

As for when the phone will launch in India, Xiaomi has not made any official announcement yet. However, the Redmi 17C 5G’s BIS certification in India suggests that the company may be preparing to bring the smartphone to the Indian market. The device was reportedly spotted on the BIS platform with model number 2607FRNEAI, indicating that its India launch could be on the cards.
