Bihar STET Result 2025: Good news for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Bihar. The Bihar School Examination Board has released the result of the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025. Now the question arises: Can candidates who pass this exam become teachers through BPSC TRE 4.0? Does passing the STET directly lead to a job?

The result of the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 has been released. The result was announced by Anand Kishore, Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board. A total of 2,56,301 candidates passed the exam, including 1,04,167 women and 1,52,134 men. The overall pass percentage in this exam was 57.96%.

This result has cleared the way for recruitment through BPSC TRE 4.0. Qualified candidates can now appear for TRE 4.0. But the question is, does passing the STET mean they will directly become teachers? The answer is no this is only an eligibility test. The actual job will be offered based on good performance in BPSC TRE 4.0, meaning you must clear this exam to become a teacher.

How Many Passed in Paper-1?

For the Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper-1) for classes 9 to 10, a total of 2,46,415 candidates appeared for the exam, including 1,07,229 women and 1,39,186 men. The number of candidates who passed was 1,54,145. The overall pass percentage for Paper-1 was 62.56%. This paper covered exams in 16 subjects.

How Many Passed in Paper-2?

For the Teacher Eligibility Test (Paper-2) for classes 11 and 12, a total of 1,95,799 candidates appeared for the exam, including 71,178 women and 1,24,621 men. The number of candidates who passed was 1,02,156. The overall pass percentage for Paper-2 was 52.17%. The exam was conducted in CBT mode for a total of 29 subjects.

How Was the Exam Conducted?

The HSST category elective subjects and Higher Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test was conducted from October 14 to November 16, 2025. The exam was held at 23 centers across nine districts, including Patna. A total of 150 questions were asked, of which 100 were subject-related and 50 covered teaching methodology and other topics. All questions were multiple-choice, and there was no negative marking for incorrect answers. The cutoff was set at 50% for the general category, 45.5% for the backward category, 42.5% for the extremely backward category, and 40% for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes.

What will Happen After Passing the STET?

Passing the STET only provides eligibility. Now, qualified candidates can apply for BPSC TRE 4.0. Only by scoring well in TRE 4.0 will they get a chance to become government teachers. This result opens the path for TRE 4.0. Those who have passed should start preparing for TRE now.
