The Oscar Awards 2026, i.e., the 98th Academy Awards, have announced their nominations. According to Indian Standard Time, the nominations were revealed at 7 PM. Neeraj Ghaywan’s film ‘Homebound’ had been shortlisted in the Best International Feature Film category. The film was sent as India’s official entry for the 2026 Oscars. However, it has now been eliminated, shattering India’s dream of winning an Oscar. ‘Homebound’ had already made it to the Top 15 list, but it failed to secure a place in the Top 5.

In the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars 2026, ‘Homebound’ was competing against films such as Argentina’s ‘Belén’, Brazil’s ‘The Secret Agent’, France’s ‘It Was Just an Accident’, Germany’s ‘Sound of Falling’, Iraq’s ‘The President’s Cake’, Japan’s ‘Kokuho’, Jordan’s ‘All That’s Left of You’, Norway’s ‘Sentimental Value’, Palestine’s ‘Palestine 36’, South Korea’s ‘No Other Choice’, Spain’s ‘Sirat’, Switzerland’s ‘Late Shift’, Taiwan’s ‘Left-Handed Girl’, and Tunisia’s ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’.

Sinners Creates History, Breaks the Record of Titanic and La La Land

Sinners has created history at the Oscars 2026. The film received a record-breaking 16 nominations, surpassing the previous record held by ‘Titanic’ and ‘La La Land’, which had earned 14 nominations each. With this achievement, Sinners has become the most-nominated film in Oscar history.
