Pakistan carried out a massive airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. A video of the incident has surfaced, showing a powerful explosion after a Pakistani air attack on a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul.
This video is going viral on X (formerly Twitter). It shows flames and a large cloud of smoke rising from above the hospital. In another video, security personnel can be seen removing bodies in torchlight, while firefighters are struggling to put out the fire. However, these videos have not yet been verified.
400 People Were Killed in the Pakistani Attack
An Afghan Taliban spokesperson said that 400 people were killed and 250 were injured in the Pakistani attack. It is being described as the deadliest attack on Afghanistan so far. Afghanistan’s deputy government spokesperson, Hamdullah Fitrat, said in a post on X that the attack took place at around 9 PM local time on a 2,000-bed hospital.
Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid accused Pakistan of targeting hospitals and civilian locations to commit atrocities. He posted on X, “We strongly condemn this attack and consider such acts to be against all accepted principles and a crime against humanity.”
What did Pakistan Say?
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson, Musharraf Zaidi, rejected these allegations, stating that no hospital in Kabul was targeted. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said that the Pakistani army carried out precise airstrikes targeting military bases in Kabul and the eastern province of Nangarhar.
