RTI activist Amit Tiwari has called for an investigation into the legal defense fund of CJP and the financial status of the father of its founder, Abhijeet Deepke. In this regard, he has written to the Election Commission and the Central GST authorities, requesting them to take appropriate action.
An RTI activist from Surat has called for an investigation into the financial status of the father of CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke. He has also written to the Election Commission and the Central GST authorities regarding the legal defense fund established by CJP, requesting them to examine the matter.
RTI activist Amit Tiwari says he has sought an investigation into the financial status of Bhagwanrao Deepke, a retired employee of the Maharashtra government. He has questioned how Bhagwanrao Deepke was able to finance his son Abhijeet Deepke’s higher education abroad.
Amit Tiwari also said that CJP is an unregistered organization, but it is functioning like a political party.
An Investigation Should be Conducted into the Matter of Raising or Receiving Funds
He said that if ₹1 crore has been announced for the party’s legal defense fund, the Election Commission should investigate whether CJP is registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
He said that if the organization is not registered, then the matter of operating in the name of a political party and raising or receiving funds should be investigated.
The RTI activist has also requested the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) to investigate whether 18% GST would be applicable on the ₹1 crore legal defense fund announced for CJP’s protesters.
Kapil Sibal had Announced the ₹1 Crore Amount
It is worth noting that senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal had announced on Monday that he would contribute ₹1 crore to the legal defense fund created by CJP.
This fund has been created to provide legal assistance to protesters who are facing cases registered by the Delhi Police during demonstrations related to the NEET paper leak case.
Request to the Election Commission for an Investigation into CJP’s Registration
Along with this, Amit Tiwari has questioned the legal existence of CJP and requested the Election Commission to look into its registration status. He said, “Cockroach Janta Party is an unregistered organization, but it is functioning like a political party. If ₹1 crore is being provided to it as a legal defense fund, then the Election Commission should investigate whether CJP is registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.”
Tiwari further said that if it is not registered, then its operation in the name of a political party and the raising of funds should be a matter of investigation.

Amit Tiwari is a resident of Surat district in Gujarat. He is an RTI activist. Amit Tiwari has been in the news after filing a complaint against Abhijeet Deepke and his father. This is the first time that Amit Tiwari has come into the spotlight in such a manner. Before this, only a few people were aware of him.
