Shia Muslims took to the streets in Lucknow to protest against the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Members of the Shia Muslim community are mourning Khamenei’s death. Khamenei was killed in attacks carried out by Israel and the US.
One protester said, “Those who have betrayal in their blood killed Khamenei through deceit. If one Khamenei is killed, a thousand Khameneis will rise. Israel and America are traitors.”
On Sunday morning in the state capital, Lucknow, members of the Shia community took to the streets. Crying and wailing, they began chanting slogans. Even women were seen weeping on the roads. A large number of people from the Shia community gathered near the Chota Imambara.
Shia Leaders Condemn Israel US Attack on Iran, Praise Khamenei as Global Muslim Leader
Maulana Khalid Rasheed, President of the Islamic Centre of India and Imam of the Eidgah, said that Israel and the US together attacked an independent country, Iran, and did not even spare schools. “We condemn this,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maulana Saif Abbas Naqvi, President of the Shia Chand Committee, said that Ali Khamenei was a leader who cared for Muslims all over the world. “Today, the entire world has seen how Israel and the US have spread terrorism,” he added.
Members of the Shia Community in Lucknow will Observe Three Days of Mourning
Under the three-day mourning period declared over the martyrdom of Ali Khamenei, members of the Shia community will keep their establishments closed and pay tribute.
In this regard, Maulana Kalbe Jawad has appealed to the entire Muslim community and all people who believe in humanity to join in the mourning.
He said that a condolence meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Chota Imambara, after which a candle march will be taken out.
The cleric has appealed to the Shia community across the country to organize condolence meetings simultaneously at 8 p.m. and, wherever possible, to hold candle marches.
He also urged everyone to join the condolence meetings in large numbers to pay tribute to the late leader.

The world should understand how America and Israel are spreading bloodshed, hatred, and terrorism across the globe… Khamenei was not just the leader of one country, but the leader of every oppressed person, every Muslim, and every human being… No one knows where this ongoing conflict will lead. But I am fully confident that Iran will prevail.”
We are not Afraid of Martyrdom
On the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Shia cleric Maulana Yasub Abbas said, “We are not afraid of martyrdom… Iran has strongly warned America and Israel that a response will be delivered so severe that they will remember it forever… The world will witness the downfall of both countries.”
On the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahli, Chairman of the Islamic Centre of India and Executive Member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said:
“Iran is a free country, and the way it was attacked violates all international laws… We strongly condemn this and appeal to the international community to step in and stop this war. We also appeal that those responsible for Khamenei’s killing be tried in an international court. I urge people around the world, and especially in our country, to maintain peace…”
Trump Cannot Win Easily
Regarding the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, a female protester said that the US has always deceived through talks and threatened war, but “our leader did not fear and did not bow. If one Khamenei is killed, a thousand Khameneis will rise, and this war will continue. Trump cannot win easily.

Regarding the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Shia cleric Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad said that those responsible are cowards who martyred a leader who always helped the oppressed. “Trump and Netanyahu have signed their death warrants. May Allah punish them. We have declared three days of mourning, and people should close their shops and businesses, but we should not pressure anyone. This is a great loss for humanity. Tonight at 8 p.m., we will hold a candlelight march.”
