There has been a major political shift in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections this time. Actor Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which was formed two years ago, has delivered a historic performance in the elections. Vijay’s party, TVK, has emerged as the largest party by winning 108 seats.

However, no party has secured a majority in Tamil Nadu. Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK is just 10 seats short of the majority mark. With TVK emerging as the largest party, political activity has intensified around forming a new government. The biggest question now is which party actor Vijay will ally with to form his government, since 118 seats are required for a majority in Tamil Nadu.

In fact, as the largest party, TVK is likely to be invited by the Governor to form the government. Party insiders are confident of receiving external support.

NDTV, citing sources, reported that TVK is considering forming an alliance with the Indian National Congress and other smaller parties. There are also reports that TVK is thinking about giving cabinet positions to all its alliance partners.

Support from These Parties May be Possible

The parties whose support is being indicated are also aligned with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam). These include the Indian National Congress, which has won five seats, as well as the Communist Party of India (Communist Party of India), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (Communist Party of India (Marxist)), and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi), each of which has won two seats.

In addition, a possible path for TVK to form the government is support from the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), which holds five seats.

However, a direct alliance with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) appears unlikely, as it is currently aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which Vijay has described as his ideological opponent.

Will a Minority Government be Formed?

All eyes in Tamil Nadu are on the Raj Bhavan. Will the Governor invite Vijay to form a minority government? This comes after a senior leader compared the situation to 2006, when the DMK’s minority government was able to survive with external support.

The Situation will Become Clear Soon

TVK’s youngest elected leader, Revanth Charan, said regarding forming the government, “There is no fear of instability. We will form the government.” He also said that any decision regarding alliances or support from other parties will be taken only by the party’s high command. He indicated that the situation regarding government formation and key dates will be clarified soon.
