Before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be played. There is now only one week left for this tournament to begin, while 28 days remain before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. A total of 16 teams, including India, are participating in the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup 2026, and they have been divided into four groups of four teams each.
India has been placed in Group B, along with New Zealand, Bangladesh, and the USA. All these teams have already announced their squads. India has appointed Ayush Mhatre as the captain of its team for this tournament.
Afghanistan Became the Last Team to Announce its Squad for the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup 2026
So far, all 15 teams had announced their squads for the Under-19 T20 World Cup 2026, but Afghanistan had not yet revealed its team. Now, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced its squad and has handed over the leadership of the team to wicketkeeper-batsman Mahboob Khan.
Along with this, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has included Aqeel Khan, Faheem Qasemi, and Izzat Noor in the team as reserve players.
