On Sunday, ICC Vice President Imran Khwaja arrived in Lahore and held marathon meetings with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Aminul Islam Bulbul, and representatives from other cricket boards. Following this, on Monday night, Pakistan’s Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated in a press conference that the final decision regarding playing against India would be made within the next 24 hours.

Pakistan Decides to Play India After Talks; ICC Confirms No Sanctions on BCB

Discussions with the ICC and BCB are ongoing regarding the matter. However, sources say that after the meeting, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi spoke with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, following which Pakistan decided to play the match against India. Subsequently, the ICC issued a measured press release stating that despite withdrawing from the tournament, no fines or sanctions will be imposed on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Earlier, the BCB had also issued a statement urging the PCB to ensure that Pakistan plays its T20 World Cup match against India.
