If you are planning to buy a new 5G smartphone in the range of ₹10,000 to ₹15,000, Redmi has launched a new smartphone, the Redmi 15C. As soon as the phone hit the market, it has grabbed attention for its large battery and strong build quality. We have tested the phone after using it for a month and explored its strengths and weaknesses, so let’s find out what makes it special.
Polycarbonate Body with IP64 Rating
Its back panel comes with a glossy and glittery finish, which shines when light falls on it. Although it is entirely made of polycarbonate (plastic), it still gives a premium feel in hand.
The smartphone weighs 212 grams, which may feel a bit heavy. The power button on the side also houses a fingerprint scanner. At the bottom, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Type-C port, a microphone, and a single down-firing speaker.
It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and you can use two SIMs along with a memory card simultaneously. For security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that works quite fast. And yes, with the IP64 rating, you don’t need to worry about light splashes of water.
Redmi 15C: Specifications
Talking about its screen, it comes with a 6.9-inch HD+ display that works at a 120Hz refresh rate, which means scrolling feels very smooth. The colors are vibrant and look good. It is a TUV-certified screen, which helps protect your eyes during prolonged usage.
For performance, the Redmi 15C is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which can run at a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz. This is a quite powerful processor for this budget. You can play games like BGMI at 60fps, but sometimes you may notice slight lag in certain areas.
The phone runs on Hyper OS 2, which is based on Android 15. It has two notable features: first, you can record calls without any announcement. Second, it supports Circle to Search and Google Gemini AI. The company has also promised 2 years of Android updates.
For photography, the back panel houses a 50MP main camera. In daylight, it captures quite good and sharp photos, especially the portrait shots, which we liked. Video recording is possible at 1080p, 30fps, with decent stability. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera, which delivers acceptable photos for social media.
Talking about the phone’s biggest strength, it comes with a 6000mAh battery for power backup. It has achieved a PCMark battery benchmark score of 19 hours and 18 minutes. For normal users, this battery can easily last for 2 days.
It comes with a 33W charger. Additionally, the phone supports reverse charging, allowing you to charge other devices using it. Overall, the Redmi 15C is a decent device. The company has launched the smartphone in three variants:
