Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the notification for recruitment to a total of 7,994 posts of Lekhpal. According to the official notification, the application process for the posts of Lekhpal will start from 29 December. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for these posts until 28 January 2026. Additionally, this time UPSSSC has removed Mathematics from the syllabus for the Lekhpal written exam. This means that questions from the Mathematics subject will not be asked in the written exam this time.
Change in the Syllabus
This time, UPSSSC has made changes to the syllabus for the Lekhpal written exam. Therefore, candidates applying for the Lekhpal posts this time will have to prepare for the exam according to the new syllabus. It is to be noted that the Mathematics subject has been removed from the Lekhpal syllabus. Now, questions from the Mathematics subject will not be asked in the Lekhpal exam.
Syllabus for the Lekhpal Exam
This time, the Lekhpal syllabus has been completely revised. It is to be noted that this time, 5 marks worth of questions will be asked from the Rural Society (Gramya Samaj) section, whereas previously, 25 marks were asked from this section. Additionally, the syllabus for Lekhpal now includes Computer/IT and General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, earlier 25 marks were asked from the General Hindi section. However, this time, there has also been a change in the General Hindi section, and now only 10 marks worth of questions will be asked from Hindi.
Eligibility Required to Apply for the UPSSSC Lekhpal 2026 Exam
Candidates who wish to apply for the UP Lekhpal posts must have a scorecard of the UP PET exam. In addition, to apply for these posts, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized institution in India. They must also meet other prescribed eligibility criteria.
