University of Aberdeen Mumbai Campus: Scotland’s University of Aberdeen is one of the oldest institutions in the world, with a history said to be over 500 years old. The university has now opened its campus in Mumbai. Along with this, admissions have also begun. The announcement was made during the Mumbai visit of Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Edwards. Along with the start of admissions, the university has also launched the ‘Aberdeen Pioneer Scholarship,’ under which eligible students will receive a tuition fee waiver of ₹2 lakh.
UK Accredited Programs Across AI, Management, and Data Science
According to reports, the university will offer UK-accredited degrees, following a four-year Scottish undergraduate model as well as postgraduate courses. Degrees will be awarded in subjects such as Computing and Data Science, Business Management, Economics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Indian students will also have the opportunity to pursue an MBA here. Initially, the teaching focus will be on AI, Management, and Computing and Data Science programs, aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The First Batch will Begin in September 2026
The University of Aberdeen was founded in 1495. The first batch for the Mumbai campus will now begin in September 2026. In an interview, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Peter Edward, said that their long-term vision and success in India are directly linked to the success of their students.
Scholarship Provides a Reduction in Tuition Fees
Along with the start of admissions, the university has launched the ‘Aberdeen Pioneer Scholarship.’ Under this, all eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students will receive a tuition fee waiver of ₹2 lakh if they apply by the Round 1 deadline of 31 January 2026. This scholarship is applicable to all degree programs.
How Can One Take Admission?
The university will offer several undergraduate and postgraduate programs tailored to local needs. Students who wish to take admission do not need to appear for an entrance exam. Admissions are based on the University of Aberdeen’s merit system, which focuses on the student’s academic background and subject preparation. Eligibility is assessed based on academic qualifications and the specific requirements of the program.
